PEO TV adds TV5 Monde Asie & Rangiri TV

PEO TV has added TV5 Monde Asie and Rangiri TV to their lineup of channels. Ironically both are FTA channels, the first being international & the latter being local. PEO TV is well on course to have more FTA channels than pay ones. One would have thought that PEO TV would have worked out a deal to carry a channel such as AXN which is basic for any pay television provider.

In addition reports are coming of PEO TV broadcasts being interrupted during good weather, the picture tends to get stuck and the no signal message is flashed by the decoder in certain areas when programmes are being watched.

We hope the management of PEO TV rectifies these problems soon and we hope that "International Pay Channels" are added to PEO TV instead of mainly focusing on these FTA ones.

PEO TV to launch TV5 Monde Asie

PEO TV is reportedly testing french channel TV5 Monde Asie on channel 90. This is a mainly french channel that occasionally telecasts some english language programming.

From news, entertainment, educational programmes to sporting events they telecast a wide range of channels and is the asian arm of the the french national broadcaster that mainly caters to citizens of France and french speaking people the world over.

This is actually a good move by PEO TV to take steps to launch this channel. Although its still on its testing phase, the launch will probably take place over the next day or so. Since this channel is a FTA channel, we hope it is made available to all PEO TV packages at no extra cost.

It's time for PEO TV to take steps to launch channels such as AXN, DIVA Universal, etc on their platform.

PEO TV adds Varnam TV

PEO TV has added a channel once again, and this time it's the local FTA channel Varnam TV. After years of adding local FTA channels, PEO added a few international pay channels to their lineup only to follow it all up with a local FTA channel.

Sure one of these days PEO TV will have more local FTA channels than international pay channels. It's an interesting method of increasing the number of channels without incurring too many expenses. However local FTA is not what a subscriber pays PEO TV to watch.

It's almost an year since HD was launched in Sri Lanka, but there is no hint of PEO TV HD.

We hope SLT PEO TV management takes steps to bring the channel content of PEO TV on par with others.
