PEO TV - too expensive

With their present strategy PEO TV will end up being more expensive than DTH service provider Dialog TV once they have all the channels available on Dialog TV also. This is because after the 14 base channels all other channels will cost Rs 50/= each. Since the IPTV operational costs are lower we believe that they carry out a more competitive offering. In addition the fact that you have to acquire an SLT fixed line is another minus point however since it is operated via SLT fixed lines this is a limitation of the service.

PEO TV is causing minimum impact on the pay television market and any impact it has caused is not due to aggressive tactics by SLT but rather the foolishness of the other operators.

Please keep us updated on the latest on PEO TV as th days progress.

quality very good. i mean picture and sound quality. but local channels it s not that good. but the main problem is unavailability of chennels. if prize for a channel is 40-50 prize ill be alright eventhough towards expensive side.

@sanjan

YAKUZA

THE BASE PACKAGE IS RS.1000/- AND HBO WILL COST A FURTHER RS.400/-,AND WHEN THEY ADD OTHER CHANNELS LIKE ESPN,STAR,STAR MOVIES ETC,THERE WILL BE A CHARGE OF RS.50/- TO 70/- PER CHANNEL,AND YOU CAN GET CHANNELS ON INDIVIDUAL BASIS.QUALITY IS OK AND THERE IS NO BUFFERING PROBLEM.THE ROUTER AND THE BOX ARE SLEEK.

Quality is fine and U can watch TV during rain. But my only issue is the reliability of the Telephone line. Is channel Nick in Hindi or English in other Services?

@yakuza
i just have trial connection which includes 29 channels. better than satellite tv as we have more other options like time shift tv and video on demand.and they say they ll add more channels. but problem is when?

SLT Callcentre says that by the end of the month the additional channals will be available. They further added this month is going to be free.

thanks for reply.

channel lineup

http://www.peotv.com/?p=channel_lineup

the base package (rs.1000) only has 19 channels, and 9 of them are local and news channels.

am i correct?

SLT should do much better than this if IPTV to survive.

PEO needs to put more edutainment channels. Not having Discovery, Animal Planet, History Channel, Cartoon Network, POGO leave a gaping hole in the lineup.

With the high price of IPTV it seems nobody is borthered about it any more. SLT will have to give better channels and come down on the price.

I hope that i get the real value from TV with SLT IPTV. I have additional fetures such as astrology, Video On demand etc on my trial connection and will sign up soon. I could watch Dandubasnamanays one of my childhood favourite teledrama. They say its free this month. I hope Podiman is too pesimistic and for me it give value for money.

@IPTV or anyone who has subscribed to PEOTV

How many of the foreign channels are in hindi ?

Hey r u ppl comparing IPTC with DTV and saying that IPTV is expensive?????? I don't think so.. DTV is having only a channel line up of 40+... But when u look at IPTV it has gone beyond barriers... It has VOD, TSTV, astro,etc. and many more.... IPTV has added value to its service.... So how can it be too expensive??? They are offering unique one off services like the ones I mentioned above. So if one is comparing them with DTV or any other operator and saying that it is too expensive, then you have to think once again my friends.....

KAyhytha,

As i see its only B4U Muisc, B4U Movies and MTV. NDTV has occational Hindi and Nick is in English. It looks like they are adding more channels. Thay have added The Buddhist and I see Tensport too on Al-a- Carte...
